Dubai Metro is the world's longest unmanned urban rapid rail transit system built by the UAE with huge investment. The planned Dubai Metro has four lines: red, green, orange and blue. The first phase of the project includes two lines, the Red Line (52 kilometers) and the Green Line (23 kilometers), which were completed and put into operation in September 2009 and March 2010 respectively. This intercity railway project is led by the Dubai Municipality and aims to solve Dubai's serious traffic congestion problem and enable Dubai to achieve its goal of becoming the region's golden city for business and leisure. The total investment of the project is about US$3.3 billion.
