The Hangzhou Bay Bridge – the world's longest bridge in 2010

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge – the world's longest bridge in 2010
The Hangzhou Bay Bridge – the world's longest bridge in 2010

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge is 36 kilometers long, 11 kilometers longer than the King Fahd Bridge connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. It has become the world record of the longest cross-sea bridge in the world by the China World Records Association, surpassing the world famous bridges such as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the United States. It is the third longest bridge built in the world and the second longest cross-sea bridge in the world.

In June 2003, our company began to enter this project. Starting from the bridge beach, the approach part, which is also the foundation part, initially adopted the standard upsetting straight thread connection method.

The steel bar process is HRB400, the yield standard value is 400mpa, and the tensile standard value is 540Mpa. In order to ensure the highest requirements of the project, our company broke through the standard value of 1.1 times higher than the steel bar parent material in China, reaching 100% broken in the steel bar, while the connection is intact.

When entering the pile foundation area in the second phase, the project adopted rust-proof epoxy-plated steel bars because the bridge was promised to be used for 100 years. This type of steel bar has a protective layer on the surface, which is very effective in preventing rust in the sea.
